Paid Services Terms of Use

These Paid Services Terms of Use (“Paid Services Terms”) are subject to the Terms of Use (“General Terms”) which you have already agreed to, and applies to your access, purchase, and use of paid portions and paid features of the Services. Any capitalized terms that are undefined in these Paid Services Terms have the meaning defined in the General Terms.
1. Payment Information
You may submit your debit card, credit card, or other payment information via our third-party payment processors, such as Stripe, (“Payment Partners”) to process your payment of the Paid Services.
The Beam does not control any Payment Partners, and your use of any Payment Partners is a transaction solely between you and such Payment Partner. Each Payment Partner may have their own terms, guidelines or rules independent of these terms, and you are fully responsible for reviewing and abiding by any such terms, guidelines or rules.
2. Subscriptions
You may purchase more access and features of the Services by purchasing a subscription (“Subscription”). We offer a variety of Subscriptions that you may decide to purchase based upon your desired usage type, for example, Artists, Industry, and Superfans. Please review our Pricing Sheet for more details. You have the option of paying for your Subscription on a monthly or annual basis (“Subscription Fee”). In addition to the recurring Subscription Fee, you will also pay a one-time member initiation fee (“Initiation Fee”).
When you purchase a Subscription, you expressly agree that you are authorizing recurring payments, and that payments will be made to The Beam via our Payment Partners and at the recurring intervals (monthly or annually) you have agreed to, until the Subscription is canceled by you or by us.
- Artist Subscription
If you have signed up for an Artist Subscription, there are many ways to promote your music, acquire fans, and generate income. When superfans contribute money to you, a small portion of such contribution will go to The Beam and to the Payment Partners, and the remainder will go to your Account. You are required to report any income you generate from the Services for tax purposes in accordance with applicable laws to the applicable taxing authorities.
180 Day Risk Free Trial for Artist Subscription
If you are a new Artist subscriber, you will not be charged the Subscription Fee until 180 days from the date you create your Account and pay the Initiation Fee (“Trial Period”). If during the Trial Period, you do not acquire 30 fans to your Account, then you may request a refund of the Initiation Fee by emailing our customer service team at [email protected] and include “REFUND” in the subject line. In order to receive a refund you must email our customer service team within 30 days of the end of your Trial Period. Our customer service team will determine whether you are eligible for the refund based on your initiation date and superfan count. You will not be eligible for the refund if you acquired more than 30 superfans to your Account during the Trial Period. If our customer service team determines that you meet the eligibility requirements for the refund, then we will provide you with your refund via Paypal, Cash App, or Venmo at your option, and your Subscription will be cancelled. If you do not request a refund of the Initiation Fee, then your Subscription will commence once the Trial Period ends and you will be charged for the Subscription Fee by our Payment Partners.
- Superfan Subscription
If you have signed up for a Superfan Subscription, you will be able to contribute money to your favorite Artists on the Service via our Payment Partners. When you contribute money to Artists, a small portion of such contribution will go to The Beam and to the Payment Partners, and the remainder will go directly to the Artists. You agree that the decision to contribute money to an Artist is entirely yours. Payment services are provided by our Payment Partners, not by The Beam. Once you confirm that you wish to send money through our Payment Partners, you will not be able to change your mind nor will you have any rights to any refund.
3. Canceling Your Subscription
You can cancel your Subscription any time. To cancel your Subscription, follow the instructions in your Account’s user settings. Your Subscription automatically renews (each month or year) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before your Subscription period ends. If you do not cancel your Subscription, it will automatically renew. If you do not cancel, then you authorize our Payment Partners to use your payment information to charge you for the renewing Subscription, including the then-current Subscription Fee and any applicable taxes on the Subscription’s renewal date.
Your Subscription will remain active from the time you cancel until the end of your current billing period, and you will not receive a refund or credit for any remaining days in your current billing period. You acknowledge at the end of your Subscription, you will lose access to all features associated with your Subscription.
4. Changes to Fees
We may change the fees or benefits associated with Paid Services from time to time with reasonable advance notice of material changes. However, no advance notice will be required for temporary promotions, including temporary reductions in the fees associated with the Paid Services.
5. Taxes
We will charge applicable taxes and fees when required to do so, but it is your responsibility to pay for all applicable taxes and fees associated with your use of the Services and your access to and purchase and use of Paid Services, including transaction taxes, data plan fees, internet fees, and other similar costs.
6. Discounts
We may offer discounts on Paid Services and the specific terms of each discount will be stated at the time the discount is offered. For example, if you are taking part in any trial period offer that enables you to use a Subscription without charge, and that trial period converts into a paid Subscription upon expiration of the trial period, then you must cancel the Subscription prior to the end of the trial period in order to avoid incurring charges for the paid Subscription.
7. Account Suspensions or Termination
If you fail to comply with these Paid Services Terms or the General Terms, we may temporarily or permanently suspend your Subscription, terminate your Account, and/or remove your posts and comments, including those where you might have access to aspects of or benefits from Paid Services. In such instances, you might lose the benefits of Paid Services, and we will not compensate you for this loss.
