How Rankings Are Determined (Subject to Change Based on User Feedback)
The Beam Charts take a fresh approach to music ranking, prioritizing excitement over traditional consumption metrics. Engagement activities like plays, upvotes, shares, and comments drive rankings, with weighted contributions ensuring fairness:

Chart Seasons
The Beam’s season-based approach builds anticipation and enhances engagement. Key points include:
- Seasons run for 12 weeks, with a one-week break between seasons for programming and analysis.
- Weekly chart updates occur every Wednesday at 12am ET.
- Submissions close after Week 8, with new entries eligible for the following season.
At season’s end, winning songs are retired, and earnings are distributed.
