About The Beam Charts
The Beam Charts find the best new music from emerging artists and put it in front of the fans and professionals who can move careers. This is a competition, not a leaderboard.
A New Kind of Community
106,000 tracks hit streaming platforms every day. The work of getting heard now outweighs the work of making the music. The Beam is music’s first competitive network for emerging artists — a place to compete, earn, and prove your artistry. The earnings don’t come from streams or sales. They come from winning.
How The Beam Charts Are Different
- Emerging artists only. Traditional charts reward the artists who already won. We rank the ones on the way up.
- One song per artist, per genre. No catalog dumping. Every track stands on its own.
- Seasons end. Like sports or Fortnite, chart-toppers retire when the season closes. The competition never goes stale.
- Songs, not albums. We rank individual tracks, because that’s where fan engagement actually lives.
Why Seasons Matters
Every season is a shot at being part of The Beam’s history:
- Build with us. Season one is private beta. We’re figuring out what works for artists and fans with you in the room.
- Get recognized. A chart-topping track makes your name.
- Get paid. Winning songs earn.
- Compete with your peers. Emerging, developing, and breaking artists. No veterans cashing in on a back catalog.
Excitement-Driven Charts
We measure excitement, not plays. Early-career success comes from building superfans — the people who vote, share, and show up — not from passive streams piling up in the background. The chart reflects who’s actually moving people.
How Rankings Are Determined
Every engagement is weighted by how much it signals real excitement. A vote means more than a play. A play means more than a passive like. (Weighting subject to change based on user feedback.)
| Engagement | Ratio | Definition |
| Upvotes | 40% | One vote per track, per logged-in user, on Beam Charts track pages |
| Plays | 20% | Logged-in video or audio plays on The Beam |
| Profile Views | 20% | Views of the artist’s profile on The Beam |
| Likes | 10% | Likes on the track during the chart season |
| Comment/ Reactions | 7.5% | One reaction per type, per logged-in user |
| Shares | 2.5 | Reposts, DMs, or off-platform shares — one per logged-in user |
Chart Seasons
- Seasons run 12 weeks, with a one-week break between for programming and analysis.
- Charts update every Wednesday at 12am ET.
- Submissions close after Week 8. Later entries roll to the next season.
At season’s end, winning songs retire and earnings go out.

Scrambled or obfuscated addresses. Addresses built to hide your identity or evade detection. This includes:
- Randomized character strings with no connection to a real identity
