This is ccrickett’s first season on The Beam and she has risen all the way to #1 on the Electronic Chart and #3 on TheBeam50!
Where are you from? “Vegas is my hometown.”
Main Genre: “I don’t know what genre I make specifically but I’d say it’s electronic in a general sense. It could be classified as deconstructed club or IDM as well.”
Why The Beam? “My friend recommended The Beam to me and initially I saw it as a cool opportunity to get myself out there. But it’s also a really awesome place to discover small artists as well, and since I’m always digging for new stuff, I really enjoy it.”
Fun Fact from ccrickett: “A fun fact about my music would be that I when I’m creating, don’t like to give myself any type of strict direction other than a feeling or atmosphere. I try to let the process decide the outcome and i find that it feels more natural this way. ”
Favorite Lyric Written: “I don’t use many lyrics in my music. I can’t say I have a favorite set of words but I do enjoy using words and statements to enhance atmosphere. And so far my favorite atmosphere to play with is a dystopian one. And my favorite song I’ve created so far would have to be +nautilus+.”
Auggie Velarde (Miami, FL | Latin)
Auggie has been with The Beam since our first season! He has won the #1 spot on the Latin Chart for Season’s 1,2,3, and is currently #1 in Season 4!
Where are you from? “I’m originally from Peru! I am based in Miami, Florida, in the United States though!”
Main Genre: “Latin! I make all kinds of music but focus on blending it with my culture and background. You will hear a lot of fusion between niche styles within Hip-Hop, Electronic, Alternative as well.”
Why The Beam? “I joined The Beam because I wanted to be part of a platform that could help me grow as an artist both with fan discovery and helping fund the future of my project. It’s been a phenomenal journey and I’m incredibly grateful for the support I have received.”
Fun Fact from Auggie: “I love to play around with technology and create tools for myself. For example, I dabble with Arduino’s and DIY hardware and have programmed my own MIDI controller theremin in my studio. I’ve also put together weird ideas I have into custom plugins using Pure Data and Max for Live. Not all my supporters know this but some do!”
Favorite Lyric Written: “It’s hard to choose one specific lyric from one particular song! This one is very meaningful to me: When you chase the future, you miss out on today.”
