Welcome to our Stripe Onboarding Guide for Artists.
To get started, open The Beam App and navigate to the Payment section in your artist profile. Click on ‘Set Up Payments’ to be redirected to the Stripe onboarding page, where you’ll begin entering your information.
Next, fill out your personal details, including your main email address and phone number. This information helps Stripe verify your account and ensures you receive all payout notifications promptly and securely. Once you are done click Submit.
Next, you’ll arrive at this page, we’ll want to verify your personal details. You’ll need to enter your legal first and last name, email address, date of birth, home address, and phone number. The same phone number you used on the Lets Get Started page.
In the Business Details section, choose ‘Music’ or ‘Other Media’ as your industry. If you have a personal website, provide the URL. If not, you can skip this step for now and proceed to the next section.
Describe your product with a simple description like ‘Independent Music Artist on The Beam.’ Agree to Stripe’s terms to proceed, and then connect your Stripe account to The Beam for seamless integration.
Once you’ve reached this page, you’ll see a success notification that says The Beam uses Stripe to connect your accounts. Click Agree and Continue.
Here you are going to Select the account you want funds to be deposited into when your Super Fan subscriptions are ready to be paid out at the end of the month. Note, this will also be the same account that will be charged when you hire creative freelancers or industry professionals for rendered services.
In order to save your payment information on Stripe, you’ll need to associate your selected accounts with your email and phone number. You’ll want to select Save with Link. Your banking info will be safe and secure being stored on Stripe through their Link payment portal.
When you see this success notification appear, all your accounts are now connected and saved with Link. Great Job! You’re almost done!
Now select which account you’ll want to receive payouts. Some of you may have multiple accounts from other platforms that use Stripe to process transaction, so if you just entered the one, you probably wont see so many options. Make sure you know which banking account you’re selecting to receive The Beam payouts on. You can always revisit this section and add or delete accounts.
Optionally, set a statement descriptor that fans will see on payment receipts. This could be your artist name for easy recognition. Review all your details carefully before submitting to ensure accuracy.
Finally, verify your public and personal details, and review your bank account information once more. Agree to the terms and submit your details. You’re now set up to receive direct payouts from The Beam via Stripe!
You’re finally done. In the future if you ever need to edit or change your payment method, you’ll make your way to the settings page, click account preference, this is the page you’ll come to update your information.
